What's the Difference Between Pressure Washing and Power Washing?
The terms "pressure washing" and "power washing" sound pretty similar, right? Since we offer so many unique services, our team at Ideal Surface Cleaning understands that the way you wash your concrete driveway is not the same way you'd want the tiles on your roof to be washed. The main difference between power washing and pressure washing is the temperature of the water.
Power Washing
Power washing uses hot water with normal pressure to clean dirt, grime, algae, mold, etc., from the exterior surface of your home. Power washing is used for:
- cleaning gutters, or vinyl, aluminum, or wood siding
- getting rid of mildew, mold, algae, or weed
- brightening the appearance of concrete
- removing gum
- prepping your house for sale
Pressure Washing
Pressure washing uses high pressure to remove dirt, grime, algae, and mold, and the water is the normal temperature that comes out of the hose. Unlike power washing, pressure washing uses water that flows through a tank that applies the pressure. Pressure washers can be either gas or electric-driven, and the pressure can range anywhere from 1,300 to 2,800 psi. There are also a variety of nozzles available to use, depending on the specific need.
